specializing in Honey bee cutouts
Need a hive removed from your home or building? You’re in good hands with 4 Brothers Honey, we are a small group of highly skilled beekeepers and construction workers, with specialty equipment, full insurances and licenses. We start the removal process with a site visit where we utilize our equipment (ladders, lift, etc.) to gain access to the colony’s location, a thermal imaging camera helps us to completely understand the location and size of the honeybee colony. Once hired to complete the removal we take care to ensure we are opening your home or building in the least invasive way possible, but the way that will also ensure the honeybees and their colony are completely removed. We will then: extract the honeybees, and all hive components, safely re-locate and re-home the honeybees, completely clean the remaining cavity, insulate and seal the remaining cavity, to guarantee the honeybees will not return to the same location, repair your home or building with salvaged or new materials as determined by the site visit investigation, and finally return the day following job completion to ensure there are no further issues.
Why Remove honeybees from inside your home? There are a few reasons why this is important. First, honeybees are needed to continue to pollinate the crops that are used so commonly, and it is best to let them survive, but in a more proper location than your home or building. Secondly, honeybees live all year long- yes, they’re in your home to stay and if for some reason they did leave, they will leave behind the remnants of the hive full of honey, pollen and bee larvae. Simply put, you don’t want all of that in your walls!

Elkins Park:
In this removal, the honeybees were located in a roof awning hung from the building without posts. It had to be carefully worked on to prevent it from collapsing while we removed structural wood to access the honeybees. We were able to salvage the decorative wood and replace the ceiling so as to preserve the esthetic of the decorative entryway.
In this case, the homeowners never sprayed the honeybees (unfortunately this is typically a gut reaction to insects in your home) because of this we were able to offer some of the excess comb honey to the owners.
Warminster
In this removal, access was quite challenging there was a main power supply cable for the house that needed to be removed in order to access the honeybee colony. We had to set up an intricate scaffold and planking system due to some fencing in the yard and the height of the colony. The home owner reported seeing the bees as far as 4 years prior and they had attempted to treat with insect spray many times, as you can see in the photo that was not successful and resulted in an extremely large colony.
Joseph Ambler Inn
This location is a very active hotel and wedding venue. We needed to work closely with their team to ensure the honeybees were removed timely and safely so as to not disrupt the flow of their business. We utilized our 65’ articulated boom lift to access the colony over a large awning. We took care to match the pine crown molding profile along the entire side of the roof, and replaced it fully. Lastly, because of the use of the lift, which is on tracks, we graded and seeded the lawn to replace any disturbed area.
